THREE LOCAL ARTISTES COLLABORATE WITH LIAM FOR THE #NOFOMOCHALLENGE TO PROMOTE WELLNESS

The Life Insurance Association of Malaysia (LIAM) and its 16 member companies are collaborating with three local artistes in boosting the #NoFOMO Social Wellness Challenge or #NoFOMOChallenge initiative.

Based on the three key elements of wellness, namely physical, emotional and financial wellness, actor and singer Alvin Chong shared his emotional wellness through his experience as a celebrity by producing a new podcast series called R U OK?!

The podcast aims to fight the stigma on discussions of emotional and mental wellness that are hidden deep inside of the person who suffers in silence.

According to LIAM, local rapper Muhammad Haqeem Nuriman Nor Azrin or better known as Yonnieboy and singer Lai Chung Fung or her stage name Nicole Lai will also be collaborating in the #NoFOMO challenge to bring forward the three key elements of wellness.

LIAM’s Chief Executive Officer Mark O’Dell said the campaign received about 750 entries since its kick off on Dec 1, 2022 where weekly winners are featured on the portal, www.nofomo.my to give inspiration and encourage others to submit their #NoFOMOChallenge entries before its closing date on May 15 this year.

Riding on the tagline “Live Well, No Fear of Missing Out”, the #NoFOMOChallenge invites youth to create a short video content based on the three elements of wellness.

The challengers stand a chance to win over RM42,000 worth of prizes which include RM10,000 cash and a brand new iphone 14 pro max, 10 consolation prizes worth RM2,000 each and a total of 120 weekly prizes of RM50 e-wallet credits each.

“To celebrate, we will be bringing the three collaborators to the #NoFOMO grand finale youth festival sometime in June this year where they will be performing. The grand prize winner and consolation winners of the #NoFOMOchallenge will be announced at the Youth Festival,” he told Bernama.

Meanwhile, he added that after the launch of the campaign, LIAM will be launching a more intensive and focused initiative towards the financial industry for university students this year.

“We are targeting around 6,000 students from public and private universities to participate in this initiative that can fulfill as part of their curriculum and can expose them to a real learning experience rather than just an engagement experience,” he added.

Concorrently, he said they are currently working with Agensi Kaunseling dan Pengurusan Kredit (AKPK) in providing financial literacy for the working class through worksite programmes by the end of the fourth quarter (Q4) of this year.

He added that this newfound programme is to reach out to the general population in the workforce through their employers to help better understand what is needed towards financial wellness.

“It’s for the people that probably have need for insurance. They may or may not have taken the steps to fulfill those needs or have engaged with an agent or someone who is knowledgeable in those areas,” he said.
