Senior Member Of Gulen Movement Caught By Turkish Intelligence: President

ANKARA– A senior member of the Gulen movement was nabbed abroad and brought to Turkey, in an operation by Turkish intelligence, Turkey’s President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, said yesterday.

The senior member, Orhan Inandi, was responsible for the group’s operations in Central Asia, Erdogan said, at a press conference, after a cabinet meeting.

The president also noted that over 100 members of the Gulen movement have been brought back to Turkey from abroad.

In early Jun, local media reported that, Inandi disappeared in Kyrgyzstan, where he had run Turkish-Kyrgyz schools.

The Turkish government accuses the Gulen movement of infiltrating into the state bureaucracy, and then attempting a coup on July 15, 2016.

Ankara says, U.S.-based Muslim preacher, Fethullah Gulen, was behind the coup attempt, in which 250 people were killed.

The Turkish government launched a massive crackdown on suspects, with links to the network, in the aftermath of the coup attempt.
