The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and the Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah have conveyed Happy 56th Anniversary greetings to the Malaysian National News Agency (BERNAMA).

Their Majesties conveyed their greetings through a poster that was uploaded on the Istana Negara Facebook and Instagram accounts today.

“BERNAMA, happy 56th anniversary,” stated the posting.

BERNAMA was established under an Act of Parliament on April 6, 1967 and was officially launched on Aug 30, 1967 in conjunction with the country’s 10th independence anniversary and the news agency began operations on May 20, 1968.

BERNAMA now has almost 1,000 permanent, contract and part-time staff in the core media services of various media service platforms as well as management, administration and marketing staff.
