JAKIM DISTRIBUTES MORE THAN RM77 MILLION ALLOCATION TO PERAK

The Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim) has handed over an allocation of RM77,769,264.00 to Perak, said its director-general Datuk Hakimah Mohd Yusoff.

She said the allocation will be used to pay the allowances and remuneration, including the special one-off payment of RM600 to Fardhu Ain or KAFA teachers, imam, bilal, siak and takmir teachers in the state.

“This allocation is a manifestation of the Federal Government’s concern for the management of Islamic affairs in the country,” she said in a statement here today.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who is also Finance Minister when tabling Budget 2023 in February, announced that a total of RM1.5 billion had been allocated for the management and development of Islamic religious affairs this year.

Last night, the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah consented to receive a mock cheque of the allocation from Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Mohd Na’im Mokhtar before presenting it to Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council president Tan Sri Mohd Annuar Zaini.
