ABIM CALLS FOR INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY’S SOLIDARITY WITH PALESTINE

The international community needs to open its eyes and express solidarity with the Palestinians following the latest brutality committed by Israel at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, said the Muslim Youth Movement of Malaysia (ABIM).

ABIM president Muhammad Faisal Abdul Aziz, in a statement today, said world leaders especially those from Muslim countries should demonstrate their solidarity by exerting political pressure until acts of cruelty are stopped altogether.

“These actions were particularly barbaric because they were done to Muslims worshiping in conjunction with this glorious month of Ramadan, which clearly does not present any security threat.

“Therefore, this cruelty is a crime against humanity because it involves the general public, including women and children, as reported in international media,” he said.

Meanwhile, Movement for an Informed Society Malaysia (WADAH)) president Datuk Ahmad Azam Abdul Rahman said Muslims and the just people of the world must rise up to defend human rights and the dignity of peaceful worshippers, respecting the sacredness and inviolability of Al Quds.

“All Arab and Muslim countries must end and cut off all diplomatic relations with Israel. It is simply not worth it to have blood on their hands and the complicity of being associated with the desecration of the holy site of Al Quds, breaching the sanctity of Ramadan.

“We must fully support BDS – Boycott, Diversify and Sanction Israel and Israeli Products, as an effective means to end Israeli aggression and scrap apartheid in Palestine. We must drag Israel to be prosecuted in the International Court of Justice,” he said in a statement.

Earlier, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim urged the international community, in particular the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), to hold the Israeli regime accountable and responsible for the raid against Palestinians at the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex last Wednesday.

Calling the attack a heinous crime, Anwar also urged them to release immediately all Palestinian detainees arrested during the raid.

At least 12 Palestinians were injured and hundreds detained, according to Wisma Putra.

Israeli forces on Wednesday stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex in occupied East Jerusalem for the second night in a row and assaulted Palestinian worshippers at the site.
