MAN ARRESTED FOR MISCHIEF BY FIRE WITH INTENT TO CAUSE DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

The Police have arrested a 57-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of mischief by fire with intent to cause damage to property.

On 20 December 2019 at about 12.30 pm, the Police were alerted to a case of fire at 4A Eunos Crescent. Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man involved and arrested him on 4 January 2020.

The man will be charged in court on 6 January 2020 with mischief by fire with intent to cause damage to property under Section 435 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. Anyone convicted for mischief by fire is liable to a jail term which may extend to 7 years and shall be liable to a fine.
