Woman Arrested For Criminal Breach Of Trust As Servant

The Police have arrested a 32yearold woman for her suspected involvement in a case of criminal breach of trust as a servant.

On 10 September 2019, the Police received a report that a woman employed as a hostel executive with a company had purportedly misappropriated monies belonging to the company.

Through investigations, officers from Central Police Division arrested the woman on the same day. Preliminary investigations revealed the woman was entrusted to collect and deposit the company's daily proceeds. Between February 2019 and August 2019, instead of depositing the company money into the bank, she misappropriated more than $96,000.

The woman will be charged in court on 16 October 2019 with criminal breach of trust as a servant under Section 408 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. The offence carries an imprisonment term which may extend to 15 years, and a fine.
